If you wish to defer or withdraw from your studies, ACS policy is to credit the enrolment fee to the next study period. If you wish to defer for a longer period, this must be discussed with the Registrar before approval and credit may be given. You must fill in a request to defer/withdraw form for credit to the next study period.
A full credit is given if applied for within 21 days of the commencement of your study period. After 21 days, a sliding scale credit system applies.
- Up to 21 days from commencement of study period 100% credit
- Up to five weeks from commencement of study period 85% credit
- Up to nine weeks from commencement of study period 50% credit
- After nine weeks from commencement of the study period, no credits will be given.
Study periods normally run for 13 weeks.
Students will be allowed to defer a specific subject twice and this will be in extenuating circumstances only. After the third enrolment in the same subject, no additional deferral is allowed.
Note: No cash refunds will be given, only credit to enroll in the next study period. (or a longer period if approved by the Academic Principal or Registrar).
Scholarship Holders:
Scholarship holders can defer for one study period and receive a 100% credit if within the 21 day time frame as shown above. If a scholarship holder applies to defer after this date then the sliding scale credit system applies as above. For example, if a scholarship holder defers in week 8, they will have to pay 50% of their enrolment fees for the same subject in the next study period. If the scholarship holder wants to defer a second time in the same subject, their scholarship will be withdrawn.
Note: The Academic Principal has the discretion to overturn the deferral/withdrawal regulation in individual cases on the advice of the Registrar, the Subject Tutor or the Mentor.
