Gauteng Chapter Presents IITPSA and PECS get together to provide Benefits for the IT Industry in South Africa – 27 August 2015

August 27, 2015 @ 17:00 - 19:30

Book now! Limited space available!

Context:

The IITPSA and PECS are proud to announce the signing of an MOU that will have benefits for employers and employees in the IT industry in South Africa.

In terms of the MOU, PECS have aligned, where possible, the IT jobs that they benchmark against the IITPSA’s ICT Career and Competency Framework.  This has major benefits for organisations that use the ICT Career and Competency Framework for Career Pathing, Role Profiling, and Competency Management in their IT organisation, as the two systems are now aligned:

  • Ensuring that jobs are benchmarked at the correct levels (grades) will be an ongoing process, as relevant information collected in the IT Salary Survey is matched against the ICT Career and Competency Framework.
  • Organisations that use the ITJobCompiler™, the system that delivers the ICT Career and Competency Framework, will have the jobs already matched to the PECS IT Salary Survey for benchmarking purposes.
  • The ITJobCompiler™ also includes a suggested OFO number for the different jobs, where possible.

This will save HR consultants hours of work in matching for remuneration benchmarking as well as Skills Development reporting purposes and will provide a solid, industry-affirmed, benchmark for establishing the “generally accepted” grade for the job.

As such, this agreement benefits both employers and employees in the IT industry and helps to ensure that IT jobs are aligned across the industry.  This was previously just a pipe-dream of many IT managers.
