What is the CPE Program?

The CPE Program is a world-class curriculum of professional development and training set within the context of an individual’s work environment. It seeks to grow professionals into leaders and provide a key point of differentiation in the competitive ICT market. The course is at Postgraduate level but it differs from traditional university courses through a strong vocational focus and the application of learned theory to practical workplace situations. The Computer Professional Education Program is education with a difference – workplace oriented and delivered by e-learning methods – it is real any time, any place learning. The CPE Program has been developed by IT professionals for IT professionals and fills the gap between university education and work experience – so you can advance to the next step of your career. The CPE Program will not only provide IITPSA Members improved employment and career prospects, but it also offers a revolutionary new method of talent retention and development for employers who need a strong structure within which members of their team can be fast-tracked to success.

The Australian Computer Institute underwrites the CPE qualification. (The Australian Computer Institute (ACS) is the recognised association in Australia for Information & Communications Technology (ICT) professionals. One of ACS key activities is course accreditation. The IITPSA has a reciprocal agreement with ACS.)

The program is still in its early stages in South Africa but we believe that because it is the professional educational program of ACS it will have industry acceptance / credibility. The ACS has an agreement with four different Australian Universities in terms of which the CPE qualification is recognised for a certain number of credits for various higher qualifications.
