ICTs ARE CRITICAL TOOLS FOR PROMOTING HUMAN DEVELOPMENT, AND REDUCING INEQUALITIES
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development includes a set of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, fight inequality and injustice, and tackle climate change by 2030.
The new SDGs, and the broader sustainability agenda, go much further in addressing the root causes of poverty and the universal need for development that works for all people. In all these endeavours education and learning remains key to achieving the SDGs.
Computer Society of Zimbabwe runs Summer Schools on an annual basis as they try to share with their members, and practitioners that aspire to be members, current and future technologies that would impact societies, economies and skills of practitioners. The Summer Schools also interrogate ICT policies in place with the view of ensuring harmonising it with technology direction to avoid conflict and propel development.
