An IITPSA Western Cape Chapter Women’s Month Event: Inspiring women in IT share their stories

The Western Cape Chapter of the IITPSA invites members to an inspirational Women’s Month event, in which three leading women in IT will share the stories of their journeys.
Discover their backgrounds, what brought them into the IT field, the challenges they faced along the way, and their hopes for the future.
In a panel discussion moderated by Moira de Roche, Past President and Non-Executive Director of IITPSA, you will get fascinating insights from Baratang Miya – founder and CEO of Girlhype coding academy, Senele Goba – Director of 4IR Innovations and Founder of Ososayensi Education Advancement NPC, and Eleni Kwinana – Executive Head for Vodacom Business in KwaZulu Natal.
Ten lucky attendees will also win great prizes during the event!
Speakers:
Moira de Roche is a Past President of IITPSA and currently serves as a Non-Executive Director. She is a Fellow and a Professional member and is also Chair of IFIP IP3.
Moira works as an independent learning specialist, and also serves on the board of an entity of the Joburg City Council. She is passionate about developing women in ICT and recently launched a programming scholarship for girls.
Baratang Miya
Baratang is the founder and CEO of Girlhype coding academy for women and girls. Mozilla named her as one of the global network50 of people who made the internet a healthy place in 2016.
Senele Goba is the Director of 4IR Innovations (Pty) Ltd and Founder of Ososayensi Education Advancement NPC. 4IR Innovations specialises in Industrial Automation, IT services and solutions as well as Educational Technology and Computer Science education.
Senele holds a BSc in Computer Science (having specialised in Computer Engineering), as well as an Honours degree in Computer Science from UCT, and has extensive experience in the manufacturing and education sectors.
Eleni Kwinana is the Executive Head for Vodacom Business in KwaZulu Natal. Her working career spans experience with Vodacom for a collective 14 years, Dimension Data, SPAR Group, CNA and Pure Pharmacy to name a few. In her current role she is tirelessly involved in digitalising Public and Private Sector Entities. As a board member of SmartXchange, she transforms entrepreneurs’ lives by influencing how their innovative dreams become a reality. Eleni has enjoyed many achievements throughout her career, the most recent being the Standard Bank Top Business Woman KZN award 2019, Vodafone Women in Red international Award, KZN Business Engage Inclusive Leader Gender Mainstream 2nd Place Award and a Vodacom CEO annual award.
