Abstract 1 – Repositioning Software Testing for Digital Transformation
The talk is based on two key elements that will determine whether the capability is in the “Bus” or missed the bus. Focus is on the soft aspects and the ease of adoption and scalability that the capability can take on.

Jabulani Shabalala has over 12 years working experience spanning across Aviation, Banking, Insurance and Resources. In his current capacity as Head of Quality Assurance at Sasol, he has managed to globally drive the need to move from being a Quality Assurance capability to that now focuses on Quality Engineering ensuring that at core is to enable the delivery streams across the value chain.
He views himself as an Innovative and disruptive Technology & Operations leader, with a deep track record of using the power of Technology to create value for organizations
Abstract 2 – Microfocus Mercury and testing
This talk will share how the Microfocus acquisition is taking the HPE/Mercury tool set forward and how it has been extended and how it is also embracing open source.

Stephen Smith is a 17+ year veteran of HP Software now taken into the Micro Focus fold. He has enjoyed a multi-faceted career in the IT world. He has learned things he never dreamt he would, met people he never dreamt he would and been places he never dreamt he would. His initial focus was on IT Management but it expanded and changed as the HP Software portfolio grew over the years. The portfolio was very aligned with ITILv2 but with HP being very involved with the development of ITIL v3 which expanded into the Service Strategy and Development areas there was a gap which got filled with the acquisition of Mercury International. His focus changed again to the Application development and testing side of the HP Software solutions. The last 8 years has seen the formulation and growth of things like IT4IT and DevOps. These have been a keen interest for him and he has moved into consulting for Micro Focus at customers who are looking to increase agility and to develop DevOps practices within their organisations.
