IITPSA KZN Chapter AGM – 30 April 2020

Notice is given of the 2019 / 2020 Annual General Meeting of members of the KZN Chapter of IITPSA NPC (Institute of Information Technology Professionals South Africa) – a Non Profit Company in terms of the Companies Act 71 of 2008, registration number 1958/001036/08, which will take place virtually via Zoom at 18:00 on Thursday 30 April 2020.

IITPSA members based in KwaZulu Natal are encouraged to attend this meeting, where the annual national and regional chapter reports will be presented, and the new KZN chapter committee for the year will be elected.

Keynote Speaker

Join us, as keynote speaker and KZN Committee member Brian Baxter addresses cybersecurity concerns in this time of pandemic.

Bryan Baxter has been in the IT Industry since 1992 in various roles ranging from Site Engineer, Information Services Manager, Group Infrastructure Manager and Business Development Manager. In this time, Brian has helped customers to successfully manage and deliver IT Infrastructure to just under 7000 users in several countries. Bryan has been a member of the IITPSA since November 2015 and ISACA since January 2020. His Current focus areas include: Cybersecurity, Cloud enabling technologies, Next Generation Outsourcing and Reducing technical debt.

KZN Chapter members’ attention is drawn to clause 6.6.5 of the IITPSA Memorandum of Incorporation which includes the following:

“IITPSA may, from time to time, provide for Members to participate in General Meetings by way of electronic communication including voting by electronic and / or other means, in the event of which IITPSA shall communicate this to Members in advance of the General Meeting.”

Please note, therefore, that the forthcoming KZN Chapter AGM will be held entirely be electronic means, and any required voting will be undertaken by a call for a “raise of hands” on the electronic platform.
