Lean Coffee event @SIGiST

Abstract:
We’re changing up a gear in the SIGiST format this time round! We’re having a Lean Coffee session where we have invited a number of speakers to talk on their topic of choice. On the evening the talks will be voted for and the top two most popular ones will be shared.
The format will be a ten-minute talk and a ten-minute discussion each. Topics we have confirmed so far are “Software testing in the DevOps world”, “Why Groovy is a cool language for test automation”, and “Will Automation take away our jobs?”
The last third of the evening (twenty minutes) will be taken up with a discussion based on the invitation from last month’s talk related to “parallel mobile execution” where Bradley Bowes offered an olive branch inviting the testing community to engage and see how we can collaborate to build on novel testing ideas. If we can find a way to facilitate this, I think that we are taking the purpose of the SIGiST and collaboration in the testing community to a new level.
