Bitcoin markets have been in a bear market trend in 2022 and it has created much anxiety for both professional and amateur traders. The introduction of hedge funds and large financial institutions into the space has resulted in Bitcoin behaving increasingly like a risk on asset in the financial markets.
In this presentation John Singh will discuss the lessons he has learnt from trading in this difficult bear market. Learn about the various tools that can be used to analyse Bitcoin markets from both a macro and a micro point of view. Due to the impact of global markets a trader will need to monitor a few key indices like the S&P500, the dollar index and the bond yield markets.
The analysis of different time frames like the BTCUSD monthly, weekly and daily charts are also important in conjunction with key moving averages and volume to assist with interpreting the charts.
The stock to flow model and monitoring of key blockchain metrics can assist the trader in establishing the fair value of bitcoin and whether it is currently cheap or expensive. The Bitcoin options volatility charts, open interest and other metrics also provide valuable input into the traders arsenal. Putting this all together into a practical framework is a vital part of analysis.

John Singh is a Senior Systems Analyst at the Spar Group LTD and has been involved in software design and development for over 20 years. He is also currently a non-executive director of the IITPSA and the treasurer of the KZN Chapter of the IITPSA. In 2019 he started an IITPSA Blockchain SIG in KZN because he is passionate about presenting Blockchain in a simple and understandable way so that individuals can make better decisions on how they wish to use the technology. In addition to this John has been involved in equity trading since 2005, Forex trading from 2011 and recently in 2019 started trading Bitcoin options.
