Robotic Process Automation: Benefits realisation and Pitfalls to avoid – An IITPSA “Tabling Tech” Event
May 14 @ 17:00 - 18:00
Any concept containing the word “robotics” is a hot topic today. For many people, the term invokes images formed by the movies: evil, overpowering machines that control and eventually destroy the human race. Many who do not harbour an apocalyptic view of robots, nevertheless fear how robotics and automation will impact their careers and livelihood.
There is also much confusion about Robotic Process Automation (RPA), where some may think that physical robots are needed (like in an assembly line), or that RPA is the same as Artificial Intelligence. Simply put, RPA is “doing” technology, executing the tasks we have programmed it to fulfil. Artificial Intelligence is “learning” technology that can identify patterns we did not even think to ask it to look for.
Business leaders are looking for ways to decrease their costs and increase the processing time of many of the tasks performed to deliver value to their clients. RPA is a form of business process automation technology that can answer these business needs.
During my talk, I will touch on the following:
- The benefits that RPA technology can offer your business
- Important things to consider before you embark on an RPA journey
- RPA tool and vendor selection
- Follow a phased approach
- Choosing the right RPA operating model
- Intro the future of RPA: Hyperautomation
