PRESS RELEASE:

IITPSA announces supporting partnership on ICT Infrastructure 2019

The Institute for Information technology Professionals South Africa (IITPSA) has announced a supporting partnership with EE Publishers on the ICT Infrastructure 2019 Conference and Expo.

The event, to be presented by EE Publishers and Infracom, will be staged at Emperors Palace, Ekurhuleni, on 28 and 29 August, with the theme, ‘ICT infrastructure to fuel the growth of South Africa’s economy.’

IITPSA CEO Tony Parry says the theme is particularly relevant as South Africa targets a Fourth Industrial Revolution future. “ICT infrastructure itself is underpinning South Africa’s moves to a Fourth Industrial Revolution era. On top of that ICTs should enable more efficient, reliable and cost-effective maintenance and management of crucial public sector utilities infrastructure.  Increasingly, ICT is what runs countries and therefore, those implementing and managing these ICTs must be highly skilled, professional and ethical.”

The ICT Infrastructure 2019 Conference and Expo is a business-to-business and business-to-government conference and exhibition showcasing cutting-edge information and communication infrastructure technology and solutions. The event brings together owners and users of ICT infrastructure in business, commercial, industrial, mining and utility installations, stakeholders in the ISP, WISP, data centre, electronics and information engineering sectors, and providers of power, standby power, emergency power and alternative energy systems for ICT infrastructure.

The conference, attracting over 300 delegates, will focus on a broad range of key ICT infrastructure issues including design, implementation and management, cloud, cyber security, risk, continuity and disaster recovery, power supply, skills development and supporting equipment, standards and testing.

Chris Yelland, Managing Director of EE Publishers, says: “ICT infrastructure is a critical enabler of the broader ICT ecosystem in South Africa, and ICT is in turn critical to a successful growing economy. This expanded two-day conference and exhibition will focus on ICT infrastructure considerations and solutions across the entire value chain to facilitate the enhancement of ICT Infrastructure in South Africa.  The support and participation of leading ICT technology and solution providers, users and industry bodies are essential in making ICT Infrastructure 2019 a success, and EE Publishers therefore thanks and acknowledges IITPSA and its accredited IT professional member base for their valued participation.”
