What you get out of the IITPSA depends on what you put into it. The IITPSA relies largely on the efforts of its volunteers (members) throughout the country.

The Institute offers a channel through which members can help solve the social and technical problems of computing. Furthermore, increasingly government looks to the Institute for advice on computing matters and this input can only come from individual members.

Professional Recognition: By using the respected letters “MIITPSA” (Member), “PMIITPSA®” (Professional Member) or “Pr.CIO®” (Professional CIO) after one’s name, members are identified as belonging to a professional body.
Career Advancement: Increasingly companies recognise IITPSA membership for their ICT staff as a prerequisite for promotion and career advancement.
Networking: Seminars, workshops and other events provide opportunities for networking. New in an organisation? Check to see if there are other IITPSA members working with you. Information to share? IITPSA Central Office will help you find a Special Interest Group or have a one-off event.

Reciprocal Service Benefits: A reciprocal service benefits scheme exists between this Institute and the overseas societies listed below. If you are a current financial full fee paying member (not including Student members and others receiving a discount or free membership) of one of these societies, you are eligible for a 20% discount on the annual full membership fee of the IITPSA (the discount does not apply to the application fees). The discount only applies to the second / subsequent society(ies) joined; i.e. you pay the full fee to the first society you join, which then entitles you to a discount when you join a subsequent society and must be claimed when first joining the IITPSA. Evidence of your current financial status with your first society is required each year when renewing your subscription to claim this discount.
