Some news on TC3

IFIP Technical Committee 3: Education (TC3) announced a new TC3 Executive Committee (EC), who plans to meet every two months to keep communication within and across TC3 possible and supported as widely as possible. This new executive is concerned with supporting strategic direction, supporting the work of TC3 and its WGs, and ensuring that recommendations and focus are aligned with the wider concerns of IFIP and with the interests of as many individuals and groups within TC3 as possible.

Some interesting points to know and take into consider going forward:

  1. IFIP TC3 WCCE 2021 IPC meeting was held on Friday 26 June 2020. A decision was taken at that meeting that the WCCE 2021 in Hiroshima, Japan will be postponed for one year. Given the current situation with the coronavirus pandemic, with flight and travel uncertainties, likely funding restrictions, and the enormous onus that would be placed on the local organising committee in managing such a large virtual conference, it was decided that a postponement would be the preferable option at this time.
  1. A very successful IFIP TC3 OCCE 2020 conference in Mumbai, India in January 2020 have resulted in a post-conference book with 15 high quality papers being part of this publication. The final manuscript will be send into the publishers soon.
  1. TC3 has made some valuable contributions to the TC# journal, EAIT, with having 27 TC3 members volunteering to review for the journal in reviewing EAIT as there is a huge need for quality reviewers. Please contact your TC3 representative who can get you in contact with the editorial team if you also wish to volunteer to review the journal.
