The pace of progress in the ICT sector has never been as rapid as it is today, nor the changes so significant. Now, more than ever before, it is crucial for ICT practitioners to stay up to date with change, master emerging technologies, and move out of their comfort zones to discover adjacent specialisations that may soon impact their daily work.

What does this mean in practice? We must all become more professionally agile, continually upskill ourselves, and engage with thought leaders from across the ICT sector to learn more. But broadening our horizons need not require a huge investment in new qualifications and certifications – we can start by attending events and joining forums where experts share knowledge freely.

One way to do so is to follow the IITPSA LinkedIn page, where you will be updated on the latest activities and thought leadership of the Institute. Comment and engage here: @IITPSA – Institute of IT Professionals South Africa

You can also participate in the IITPSA’s free Special Interest Group (SIG) webinars to stay up to date with industry developments, open up new opportunities for career development, and earn CPD points by attending.

Keep an eye on our calendar for upcoming events hosted by the SIGCyber, Blockchain & Crypto SIG, AI & Robotics SIG, Software Testing / Quality Assurance SIG, DevOps SIG and the Social and Ethics SIG. Our members also benefit from discounted access and CPD points when they attend the leading ICT industry events we partner with. See our social media pages and newsletters for notices of upcoming events.

To help shape the future of the IITPSA and ensure we meet your professional development needs, participate in meetings such as the upcoming Gauteng Chapter AGM and the Women in IT Chapter (#WIIT) AGM. Your participation is crucial as we discuss key accomplishments, financial performance and strategic goals for the year ahead. Your voice matters, so mark your calendars and let’s chart the course together.

Best regards,
