VUT Students SIG

VUTThe Vaal University of Technology (VUT) Student’s Special Interest Group (SIG) was launched in 2011 and consists entirely of Students enrolled in IT courses at the Ekurhuleni Campus of VUT. It remains a SIG of Institute of Information Technology Professionals South Africa and falls within the domain of the IITPSA’s Gauteng Chapter.

The main aim of the SIG is to encourage students already studying in IT to persevere with their studies and to perhaps attract others to the profession. Students are exposed to IT Business Leaders and Entrepreneurs through SIG events and they are encouraged to think broadly about how they will pursue their careers after graduation.

The IITPSA plans to use this model, once well established, to roll out to other Universities and Universities of Technology.
