Whether 2024 proves to be a turning point for our country, or delivers more challenges, the IT sector will have a critical role to play in keeping lights on, systems running and business innovating. We will have to play our part professionally, ethically, and on a budget.
At the same time, IT professionals will have to keep upskilling to stay abreast of developments in cyber crime, AI and emerging technologies. We will also have to focus on growing our IT skills pipeline and passing on our knowledge to younger professionals entering the sector.
While this may sound exhausting, the IT sector is known for its ability to thrive under pressure and adapt to change.
Our IITPSA members are up for the task that lies ahead.
On that note, we also encourage our members to consider becoming actively involved in the IITPSA Women in IT (#WIIT) Chapter. WIIT was created specifically to encourage girls to enter the profession and support women already working in IT, by creating a platform for growth, development and mentorship. Please visit the Chapter website to learn more: womeninit.org.za, or click here to indicate your interest in assisting.
We wish you all a wonderful holiday season, with ample opportunities to recharge and refresh.
