Western Cape Chapter Presents Digital Forensics – 19 May 2016
May 19, 2016 @ 17:00 - 19:30
IITPSA Members attending this event will earn CPD / LLL points
Abstract:
Digital Forensics is a fairly new emerging area found under the broader umbrella of computer security that is mainly concerned with the discovery and preservation of evidence in a digital format for proof of criminal behavior and ultimately prosecution of criminal activity. Technology is increasingly being abused by criminals in order to both commit illegal activities and avoid apprehension by relevant legal authorities. The use of technology to commit these illegal activities poses new challenges to law enforcement and digital forensic practitioners.
The presentation will cover a discussion about digital forensics, digital forensics readiness, applicable legislation and how business can best prepare itself in the event that digital forensics investigations are ever required.
