The Institute of Information Technology Professionals South Africa (IITPSA) is pleased to announce the relaunch of its Special Interest Group in Cybersecurity (SIGCyber), with a highly topical panel discussion on national cyber security efforts.

Join this event moderated by Dr Jabu Mtsweni: Head of Information and Cyber Security Centre at the CSIR, with panellists Dr Brett van Niekerk: Senior lecturer in computer science at the University of KwaZulu‐Natal and Dr. Kiru Pillay, Chief Director: Cybersecurity Operations in the South African DTPS, for government and academic insights into emerging cyber security policy frameworks.

The panel discussion will address:

• Introduction and update on Emerging policy framework, overview of NCPF (National Cybersecurity Policy Framework) and national CSIRT
• How to increase collaboration between all stakeholders to improve awareness and reduce cyber risk in South Africa
