The ICT threat landscape has rapidly evolved over the years and so has the demand for intelligent and faster security platforms. ICT professionals have been sorely pressed to find solutions that mitigate these advanced persistent threats and more over about the security of information. Often, the security threats would have already penetrated the infrastructure and lying dormant before triggered by an end user activity.

The focus of this presentation is to address the need for security defence and depth from perimeter to end-point. Discussion points will be around how systems get infected, what happens to the infected systems and possible ways to remedy this. This will also involve an assessment of the impact that the threat has or will have to the business. This will also in turn bring about the consideration of business continuity strategies and plans should a threat of any magnitude hit the business.

With an understanding of how the threat landscape is changing, we also need to address the aspects surrounding the future prevention of such threats based on learning and information gathering exercises. This can be an automated process which allows devices to constant learn and update signatures, definitions, etc on latest threats.
