Did You Know?

Digital publishing releases fewer carbon emissions than physical publishing but increasing video and audio content may limit possible reductions in output. (Andri Johnston, CUP&A [1])

To measure the carbon footprint of digital publishing, emissions from content management, (cloud) hosting, transmission networks and end-user devices need to be considered (DIMPACT [1])

Addictive design principles employed by online platforms to keep users engaged often lead to excessive screen time and increased energy consumption, exacerbating environmental impact (Tristan Harris, Center for Humane Technology [2]).
