Jaco Maas is the General Manager of Shift DX, a next-generation digital agricultural platform business. Growing up on a farm on the West Coast of South Africa gave him a love for the land and the potential it holds. Stellenbosch University was a natural choice for a degree in agricultural administration, followed by an MBA a couple of years later. He has since gathered more than 20 years of experience in the agricultural value chain, working in the fruit, livestock and financing industries. Jaco joined the BKB Group in 2010, and his analytical view of data and the ability of technology lead him to various leadership positions in business and industry. His passion is to apply the opportunities that lie in Industry 4.0 technologies to the global forces affecting the future of food production, and he is currently working on deploying Blockchain technology in the African agricultural market.
