Abstract:

Topic:
Aquaculture in Theory and in Practice

Africa and South Africa in particular face massive challenges and continually struggle to compete internationally due to employment opportunity, linear education, food security and a lack of critical systems and sustainability thinking approach.  In the talk it will become clear that the IT industry not only offers diverse and exciting applications for tracking and monitoring systems, but also demonstrates its ability to support innovative business strategy and to create disruptive methodology in a landscape that is changing at lightning speed.

Over the years Gary has developed innovative Aquaculture/aquaponic technology and operating methodology to address many issues that the country faces. Join us as we take you on the journey we have taken and explore how innovation, IT and business models have allowed us to create a positive impact in areas where it counts!
