The Pathways to Innovation and Creativity – Sugar & Wood – InnovationSIG

June 1, 2017 @ 17:30 - 19:30

IITPSA Members attending this event will earn CPD / LLL points

Abstract:

Craig will present on the methods of opening up one’s “self” to breakthrough creating and innovation; whether for new initiatives or entities, be they for profit, purpose or benevolence. The conceptual energies needed to usher a successful courtship, conception, birth and vitality will be discussed. The “How do I unlock my creativity and make it actually work?”

Craig currently owns and runs companies Sweet Angels Boutique Food Design and AGC Design – which makes furniture and shop-fittings using reclaimed materials. Both are Johannesburg-based.

Sweet Angels is a food design kitchen focussed on sugar based products. Over one hundred flavours of fudge are produced using only natural ingredients. Furthermore, absolutely original recipes have been designed to create new and unique fudges. Formed fudges are also made which appear to be unmatched anywhere in the world. Sweet Angels also designs and manufactures luxury ice cream syrups, biscuits, meat sauces, sweet mustards, milkshakes, etc. Only bespoke work is done for exclusive clients with an avoidance of general retail.

AGC Design (All God’s Creatures) started out as a company designing items, all from reclaimed materials, which would invite creation back into an environment. Bird houses (Owls, hoopoe, etc.), bat hotels, butterfly houses, ladybird breeders and so on… Soon AGC was asked to design and make products for the undertaking industry, domestic furniture, exhibition stands and shop-fitting. Today AGC Design is a Grand Designs Expo “Best on Show” award winner and recently fitted the new Jacksons Real Food Market in Bryanston.

Speaker Biography

Speaker: Craig Zimmerman

Speaker Bio:

Having spent many years in the technical arena of pharmaceuticals, eventually specialising in start-ups, rescue and turn-arounds, as CEO of a hospital supply company, Craig took the decision to escape corporate in 2003. He embarked on a journey of personal capacity exploration, authenticity and purpose.

Yet within all the exciting progress of these businesses, the moral and human aspect remains intrinsic to all endeavours with un-employed and despondent people being able to receive their dignity back and in turn, thrive. “Purpose fulfilment.”
