Benjamin Kleyn is a first year student at Stellenbosch University, currently studying towards his Bachelors in Science, with a focal area in Mathematics and a second major in Computer Science.

He has always had a passion for mathematics and working with computers. Over the past few years he has been training to compete in mathematics- and informatics Olympiads and his achievements are proof of his hard work.

Some of his proudest moments include winning the 2022 South African Tertiary Mathematics Olympiad, winning the 2022 South African Programming Olympiad, receiving an honourable mention at the 2022 International Mathematics Olympiad, representing South Africa at the 2022 International Olympiad in Informatics, and receiving bronze medals at both the 2023 International Mathematics Competition for University Students and the 2023 International Olympiad in Informatics.

Benjamin plans to stay involved with Olympiads in South Africa and wants to help train the next generation of young people who are enthusiastic about problem-solving.
As a naive 19-year old, he wants to be in academics forever.
